The symptoms of Tailor’s bunion

Similar to the Hallux valgus, the tailor’s bunion, or bunionette, manifests as a bump on the outside of the foot at the base of the little toe.

What are the most common causes?

Like Hallux valgus, tailor’s bunions can be caused by hereditary factors. Still, tight-fitting shoes and high heels, as well as some chronic pre-existing conditions, can contribute to the development of a bunionette.

What are the symptoms?

A bony growth appears at the base of the little toe, usually accompanied by swelling, redness and pain. The bump can make shoes and certain activities uncomfortable.

How is it diagnosed?

The condition is easily diagnosed with a physical examination. The podiatrist might order an X-ray to verify the extent of the deformity.
