What is the most common cause?
The most common cause is osteoarthritis of the distal joint of the finger, secondary to wear and tear due to aging or an old trauma.
What are the symptoms?
Occasional pain of varying intensity. The cyst may ulcerate and drain or become infected.
How is it diagnosed?
Clinical exam is typical, but X-rays can be useful to assess the condition of the joint.
