Scaphoid fracture treatment
Non-surgical treatment
With a little luck, the fracture will be recent and undisplaced. In that case, a cast immobilization for six to 12 weeks usually suffices to allow healing. The scaphoid must not move during that time.
Surgical treatment
Percutaneous pinning to stabilize the fracture will speed healing. For patients who lead active lifestyles, this can be the ideal solution. A bone graft might be required for a complex or older fracture. Inadequate treatment or poor healing may lead to disabling osteoarthritis of the wrist.

The treatment exceeded my expectations. I was able to resume my normal activities, I who foresaw a long convalescence, without music and without sport. Thank you Dr. Brutus!
